About The Wavelength
Northfield's Wavelength brings the octave mandolin into more accessible territory with its 19" scale length and A-style body.
The 19" scale roughly splits the difference between a standard mandolin (~14") and their archtop octave mandolin (~22"). It's still long enough to provide proper string tension and tone, but helps to make tricky chord voicings and faster passages more manageable.
Materials and Construction
Adirondack red spruce top with figured maple back and sides delivers rich yet clear tone across the deeper octave register.
Made in Northfield's Marshall, Michigan workshop, the Wavelength features an ebony bridge and fingerboard, matte spirit varnish finish, and Gotoh tuners.
Ships with Northfield's custom medium-gauge phosphor bronze strings and heavy-duty gig bag.
