Northfield mandolins have a 5-year warranty to the original owner.
In my 10+ years of selling Northfield mandolins I've never had to file a warranty claim, but it's still nice to know it's there.
Registering Your Mandolin
To activate warranty coverage, register your instrument by filling out this form on Northfield's website, or complete and mail the warranty card included with your instrument. Only one registration method is needed.
Northfield Warranty
Northfield mandolins are covered by a 5 year warranty to the original owner. Upon notice of any major defect we will replace or repair the instrument at our discretion. If for any reason you feel that there is something defective about the instrument, please contact us immediately so that we can work quickly to resolve the issue.
The warranty does not cover damages incurred by misuse, accident, unauthorized repairs, exposure to extreme temperatures, excessive humidity, excessive dryness, or normal wear (fret wear, scratches, dents, set-up and playability changes). Also not covered by the warranty is finish crazing, checking, clouding, or wearing away from use.
Finely made acoustic instruments such as Northfield mandolins are constantly in flux with environmental conditions and the playability is affected by this relationship. Changes in string action or "buzzing" of the strings often are not the result of a defective instrument but simply require basic setup work.
All Northfield mandolins are carefully inspected and setup before leaving the Northfield Workshop. We strive to deliver an instrument that is excellently intonated and is a joy to play. Not all players like the same setup and some basic adjustments may be required for the instrument to suit personal preferences.
